The
Microlighting
Thrill
Microlighting
perfectly captures the
spirit of early
aviation, pioneering,
thrilling and a touch
eccentric. These quirky
little aircraft, with
their panoramic views
from the cockpit, are
ideal for short trips
over the countryside. A
great way to fly on a
fine summer's day!
Your
Thrilling Experience
This
experience includes a
short briefing from your
instructor before your
flight in a
dual-controlled
microlight. During your
flight, subject to the
pilot's discretion,
you'll be encouraged to
take the controls. If
you get a taste for
microlighting, you can
use your flying time
towards a pilot training
qualification.
Important
information
Maximum
weight is 14 to 16 stone
and minimum age is 10 to
14 depending on
location. Under 18s must
be accompanied to the
venue by an adult and
must have a disclaimer
form signed by a parent
or guardian.
Length
of activity
This activity
can last up to 2 hours,
depending on your choice
of detail.
Weather
Conditions
Microlighting
is a weather dependent
activity and it is
crucial that you call
the centre for a weather
check before setting
out. If your flight is
cancelled due to the
weather it will be
re-booked for an
alternative date.
Availability
We recommend
booking three weeks in
advance, even earlier
for summer weekends.
What
to wear
Most
microlights have open
cockpits, so please
dress warmly. Sunglasses
are recommended.
Friends
& Family
Bring friends
and family along to
watch you take off and
land. And don't forget
to bring a camera and
binoculars.
Extra
information
Your flying
time can count towards a
Private Pilot's Licence
for microlights. If you
have ever wanted to be a
pilot, then this is a
great way to get
started. Please be aware
that this is quite a
high adrenaline
experience, not for the
faint hearted.
