The
Parachute
Thrill
Probably the most
exhilarating activity
anyone would experience
and most certainly an
event which will be
remembered for the rest
of life. If you are not
buying this activity for
yourself, you should
ensure that the
recipient of this
voucher has nerves of
Steel!
MegaThrills.com
offers three
activities
- The 3,000ft
static line
jump
- The 10,000ft
tandem
skydive
- The Freefall
Megathrill
The
3,000ft Static Line
Jump
If you have
the nerve to go it alone
then this two day course
is the one for you. This
activity is usually
carried out over
weekends. On arrival at
the jump field you will
be welcomed by your
jumpmaster and other
jumpers. The whole
Saturday is spend on
training which includes
parachute maintenance,
safety issues, aircraft
disembarkation and
landing.
Your jump will take
place on Sunday, when
you are taken to an
altitude of 3,000ft. You
are connected to a
static line from the
aircraft to
automatically open your
chute. The pumping
adrenaline that you will
experience on your
ascent only enhances the
exhilaration you will
feel after the jump. As
for the jump itself,
3000ft of leisurely
descent gives you plenty
of time to admire the
stunning views.
The
10,000ft Tandem
Skydive
After a
thorough safety briefing
you board the plane and
are taken to an altitude
of between 10,000 and
12,000 feet (depending
on location), where you
are firmly strapped to
your instructor. When
everything has been
checked and rechecked
and checked again, you
and your instructor step
from the open doorway of
the plane into the air.
Surprisingly, you do not
experience the
anticipated 'falling'
sensation. Instead you
feel you were floating
in very windy air. This
lasts for only 30
seconds but feels more
like several minutes.
Your skydive instructor
remains in full control
of everything that
happens during this part
of the descent, leaving
you free to enjoy the
world below as you have
never seen it before.
At 5000ft your tandem
instructor opens the
main parachute which is
a state of the art high
performance square
canopy. When deployed,
your controls allow you
to assist your
instructor to fly to the
target area. Some six or
seven minutes later you
will glide to a soft
stand up landing on the
drop zone, leaving you
breathless and smiling.
Then you rush over to
the office to receive
your personal Tandem
Skydive Certificate
before getting ready to
tell your friends just
what sky diving is all
about!
The
Freefall Megathrill
The AFF
(Accelerated Free Fall)
Course, same as above,
but including 8 x
12,000ft jumps. This is
an Intensive Seven Day
course or you may spread
it over several weeks.
This is your chance to
become a Free Fall
Parachutist in just
eight jumps.
